How To Incorporate CBD Oil Into Your Diet

How to incorporate Scalar infused CBD oil into your diet is a common question we get asked from new users. Although the simplest, most recognized method is to take a few drops into your mouth and under your tongue, there are other more creative and fun ways to ingest and enjoy your CBD oil. Remember, it is also important to consider not just the method of ingesting it, but also the amount you consume, as well as the time period of your consumption!

Different Methods of Consuming CBD Oil

Firstly, cooking with CBD oil not only helps remove the bitter flavor of the oil, but it also makes cooking more interesting and exciting as you learn to incorporate it into different meals or sauces! For starters, you can technically add CBD oil into any meal that includes another oil-based ingredient. This is so that oil-based ingredient can be infused with the CBD oil. Examples of these other oil-based ingredients are: vegetable cooking oils (sunflower or olive oil), ghee, butter, lard, coconut oil, etc.  You can also add some extra spices or sugar to your meal, as the CBD oil may change the original flavor, and you’ll want to make your meal as delicious as possible (naturally).

Play around with some recipes until you find the perfect blend of CBD oil, other oil-based ingredients and spices! When you begin cooking with CBD oil, cook it on low heat and use a small amount first in order to observe its effects once you consume it.  The cooking process can change the effects that it gives, so it’s always better to start small and avoid side effects from ingesting too much. It should also be stored at room temperature away from light. Once opened, use within 60 days. You want to make sure that you are reaping maximum benefits from your CBD oil.

Some other ways of incorporating it into your meals is through sauces or salad dressings, if you do not want to cook the oil directly into your food. For example, you can pour some of your favorite salad dressing into a bowl first, then add some drops of CBD oil and mix it together, then drizzle the mixture over your salad.

If you are feeling adventurous, give your morning coffee a twist by adding some CBD oil and coconut oil – some people say that these coconut and CBD oil go hand in hand. You can also add some CBD oil into a protein smoothie or fruit smoothie! (Tip: look for smoothies that also contain coconut oil!)

Lastly, add some CBD oil into your favorite dip – it goes well in guacamole. There are a range of CBD oil cooking recipes out there to choose from, or you can get creative and invent your own recipes!

When is it the Best Time to Ingest CBD Oil? 

Technically, there is no specific time that is ‘the best’, as it is different for each person. Usually, the best way to ingest CBD oil is consistently with meals or drinks. Take it into your daily routine. For example, you can have it 3 times a day with breakfast, lunch and dinner. Some people say that taking it on an empty stomach can make them feel drowsy or nauseous, so it’s a good idea to incorporate it with a meal. Some users say that taking in the morning is best, as it awakens them, whereas others feel it makes them sleep better and prefer taking it before bed. Observe the effects of what CBD oil does for you, and then adjust accordingly. CBD oil has long lasting effects from about 4- 12 hours. It differs for each person, as it depends on several variables such as the amount of CBD oil ingested, your size/weight, the way you consume it. So, it’s really up to you to decide what feels best.

How Much Should I Consume Daily?

Again, there is no specific amount of CBD oil to ingest per day, as it will vary from person to person. You can learn how to calculate the best amount of CBD oil for you, based on your size, gender and weight-all of these need to be taken into consideration. If you are ingesting it for the first time, then start by taking a small amount first, then increase it with each meal at consistent times throughout the day. Try to keep other variables consistent to help monitor the effects of the CBD in your system more easily. For example, do not start taking CBD oil and then at the same time drastically change your diet or exercise routine. You may experience different effects from either the CBD oil or your diet/ exercise routine as well, making the whole process more confusing.

If you are already ingesting CBD oil, but you want to change the amount that you are ingesting, then when you change it, keep the times of the day consistent of when you ingest it.  If you notice any side effects due to an increase in your amount of CBD oil, such as headaches, or nausea then reduce the amount you are taking but still be consistent with how many times a day.
